What is the proverb “Shuhari”?

Do you know the word “Shuhari” in the proverb?

“Shuhari” is one of the ways of thinking, and if you explain it, it is a step for personal growth.

Protect the mold.
Break the mold (arrange in your own style).
(3) Break away from the mold (be free from the concept of mold).

The Shuhari step begins with “shu”, which involves thoroughly following the “forms” taught by the master. Next, by practicing according to the teachings of the master and learning other information, you will be able to break the existing “form”. This is the “ha” step.

By further training, you will be able to create your own unique kata that is not the first kata you learned from your master. This is the ri step.

At first glance, “shuhari” seems to change from the first kata (master’s style) to another kata, but from “shu” to “ha” and “separate”. Even if you advance, the point is that it is an extension of “mamori (basic kata)” rather than completely changing from the teachings from the master who learned in “mamori”.
